The new season doesn’t premiere until Thursday, April 7 on the Hallmark Channel. However, the show’s star, Erin Krakow, will be absent from the show. He was asked about the show carrying on without its original character.

“I do. Not that I would ever want to have to do that, or that any of us would ever want to have to do that,” Bill Bird told Soaps.com. “We do think [Erin] is the absolute source of everything on When Calls the Heart and we love her. We hope we don’t wear her out and tire her of this whole thing. She could be there forever as far as I’m concerned.”

Bill is prepared to have a show without the show’s lead. He explained that “the biggest star of the show is the community.” When Calls the Heart has always been about the town of Hope Valley. The popularity of the series is what spawned the Hearties fanbase.

“People have fallen in love with the community and then they have these focal points with specific characters that they’re deeply in love with,” Bird continued. “And I do believe that the show could continue if we had to by morphing, if necessary.”

The When Calls the Heart Season 11 spoilers suggest there is a life beyond Hope Valley for many of the characters. Back in Season 5, Daniel Lissing, who played Jack Thornton, exited the series. He was a major character who made a great move in his career. Bill noted that the characters are always welcomed back to Hope Valley.

“This the kind of town it is,” he concluded. “But I do think there’s a life beyond — it’s bigger than any of the individual characters on the show.”
