General Hospital Spoilers taunt the Quartermaine women are nothing if not fierce. We’ve seen them come and go over the years, practically shape-shifting into solid competitors for their male counterparts.
Some of them — like Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) — have always been a bit more compassionate. Others — like Brook Lynn’s grandmother, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) — have been as sharp as a tack, cutthroat, and absolutely ruthless.
Even Tracy is softening up a bit in her later years, much thanks to Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison). However, there is one Q lady who has always been fairly balanced and rumor has it, we’re about to see her sharpen her edges in ways we couldn’t have predicted.
Who is it, and what’s about to go down that will change her forever?
Upon first look, Olivia’s NY swagger and attitude give people the impression she’s as tough as nails. But we know that isn’t true. At the first sign of crisis or sentiment, Olivia is the first to tear up.
Her heart of gold manifests itself at the worst of times. She’s exactly the type of woman a Quartermaine man needs to keep him grounded, but we wouldn’t exactly call her a Lila Quartermaine (Anna Lee). At the same time, we recognize Ned was never looking to marry a carbon copy of his grandmother.
Tracy must’ve made more of an impression on him as his mother than he likes to think because the women in his life all echo a similar trait — toughness and painfully truthful. But will Olivia be able to stand in her own truth soon as Ned turns their lives upside down — again?
Ned should know better at this point than to do anything that would upset his wife. He nearly lost her the last time he screwed up. We all expected that when Ned bounced back from his most recent stint at Eddie Maine (Wally Kurth), he and Olivia’s marriage would be stronger than ever.
After all, she thought she was going to lose him forever and have to watch him move on — potentially with someone else.
Regaining her husband put things in perspective for Olivia, and we’ve never seen her cry more than the months she had to endure getting to know Eddie and falling for him in a way he didn’t appear to fully reciprocate.
But now, rumor has it Ned is about to step outside the lines of their marriage again. Will this be the nail in their coffin?
None of us have forgotten the hell that ensued after Ned had one too many drinks and hopped into bed with his drunken ex, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).
Since then, we haven’t seen Alexis and Olivia cross paths much, if at all. But if Olivia thought that was bad, she’s got another thing coming. The gossip mill is churning out juicy highlights claiming Ned is about to slip up with another ex.
This time, it’ll be Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer), Olivia’s best friend. It won’t be easy to come back from this faux pas. After all, Ned can’t just excommunicate Brook Lynn’s mother from his life. Olivia can’t just forget that she’s losing her best friend because both she and her husband betrayed her in the worst way possible.
Will Olivia’s tough girl NY attitude carry her through this, or will she be spitting out tears instead of nails when she learns of her husband’s latest affair? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
