General Hospital Spoilers reveal Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) tried her best to keep her lips zipped as Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) continued to pry for information on what was going on with Elizabeth’s boyfriend, Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).
Losing his father — Gregory Chase (Gregory Hamilton) — came as a surprise to everyone, but Elizabeth was far more shocked by Finn’s decision to cope with a bottle of bourbon.
Breaking his sobriety streak and turning on her in a way she never thought she’d see, it was tough for Elizabeth to keep her emotions to herself.
But she knew better than to confide in a friend who was also the Co-Chief of Staff at GH. Now, Finn’s career could be on the line — and it’s all because Elizabeth couldn’t wait to confide in someone else who wouldn’t have left the situation compromised.
Elizabeth was quick to wish she could take back the words that came out of her mouth. Uttering to Portia that she hopes she won’t make her regret confiding in her, the good doctor was left feeling torn between being a friend and doing her job.
Knowing she may have to report the issue if it continues any longer, they are both praying that it doesn’t. Elizabeth is hoping this is just a bump in the road and that her relationship with Finn will be fine.
Portia is hoping she won’t have to act on this information and betray Elizabeth’s confidence. But if Finn doesn’t get his act in gear quickly, any sign of a slip-up on his end that impacts his work life could mean Portia is forced to speak up.
When Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) came over to Finn’s place, he too was taken aback by the open bottle of bourbon on the table.
He couldn’t believe that he was now not only dealing with his father’s shocking death, but his brother’s relapse into addiction. Finn has worked so hard to get clean.
Watching him throw it away over his grief was the last thing Chase expected. Of course, neither he nor Elizabeth have the back story of Finn’s sip of champagne at Chase’s wedding.
Nonetheless, when Finn told Chase to get rid of the booze, it signaled a positive sign to his brother that maybe all was not lost. But so we have to say it? We know better.
Portia was right to be concerned. If Finn slips back into a world of addiction, he won’t likely stay on staff at GH. His second chance has already come and gone and he won’t be that lucky again.
Portia would hate to lose a doctor like Finn. At the same time, she would hate having to report Finn’s situation when she only knows about it because Elizabeth confided in her as a friend — not as the Co-Chief of Staff, her superior.
Will Portia feel compelled to share the truth with her own superiors, leaving Finn flapping in the wind and Elizabeth resentful and distrustful of her?
Will Finn blame Elizabeth for opening her mouth in the first place instead of taking the blame for his own mistake? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
