Days of Our Lives Spoilers reveal that Deidre Hall has played the role of Marlena Evans for nearly fifty years. Deidre is ready for a big change. Is Deidre ready to move on to something else after all this time? What other interests might Deidre have?

Deidre Hall Didn’t Plan On Being An Actress

Days Of Our Lives spoilers indicate that Deidre is best known for her role as Dr. Marlena Evans. However, this is not the only role in television that Deidre has been involved in.

Deidre has started in tv classics such as Columbo, Murder She Wrote, Our House. Deidre also had the lead role in the superhero series Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

However, action was not the original career that Hall planned on. Deidre said in a recent interview with People Magazine that her original career path was almost the same as Marlena’s.

“In college I was studying psychology, ironically, and I had to make a living, and so I had done some modeling when I was in Florida,” she said.

Hall says that modeling led to commercials. Commercials lead to bigger things. Deidre admits that this was not an easy transition, and she took acting classes for over a decade to hone her skills.

Deidre now mentors the younger actors that join the show. Hall says, “We have a lot of young people that join the show that are not experienced or haven’t had a whole lot of training, and everybody carries everybody on Days of Our Lives. It’s a lovely collaboration.”

DOOL Spoilers: After Fifty Years, Deidre Hall Is Ready For Change

Deidre began playing Marlena on Days of Our Lives in 1976. Deidre quickly became a fan favorite and during the Salem Strangler storyline, fans boycotted the studio when Marlena was killed off.

It turned out that Marlena’s twin sister Samantha Evans, played by Deidre’s real life twin sister Andrea Hall, that was killed.

Of course, since then, Marlena has been killed a few times and returned. Along with being killed off, Marlena has been possessed twice as well. Now Deidre is ready for a change.

Deidre says that Marlena has never had a serious illness. (Well assuming you overlook her last death storyline). Hall would also like to treat a patient who is deaf.

“I know sign language. If we ever have a moment or if she has a deaf client or we need an interpretation, that might be kind of fun. That doesn’t happen every time in the daytime.”

Of course, Marlena’s former sister-in-law Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) was deaf at one time, surely another deaf person could be added.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Deidre Hall Isn’t Going Anywhere

Fans can rest assured that if Deidre has her way, she will be around for years to come. “To have that be a part of my every day and every week for years and years and years is just such a joy and such a pleasure, and I’m beyond grateful for it,” she says about Days of Our Lives.
