Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers suggest a new face will soon fill the shoes of Tate Black in Salem, as actor Jamie Martin Mann exits the show, and Leo Howard is recast in the role. Mann recently sat down to talk about leaving the show with Soap Opera Digest (SOD).

Days spoilers note that Jamie’s last day on canvas with be Thursday, April 4. He first entered DOOL in October 2023.

After months of being wrongfully accused of a crime he did not commit, not to mention being tried as an adult for a few weeks.

Mann concludes his Tate storyline on a high note, as the character has been fully exonerated from the overdose accident that caused Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) to be in a coma for months.

Jamie notes to SOD that he was grateful for the chance to close the storyline, and it was fulfilling for him as an actor to exit in this fashion.

He talks about the “big three” friendships he forged with Ashley Puzemis (Holly Jonas), as well as Tate’s onscreen parents, Eric Martsolf (Brady Black) and Emily O’Brien (Theresa Donovan).

He reveals that because he and Ashley were close in age, and entered DOOL at the same time, they both had that “awe”factor of finding their way on the soap.

During his SOD interview, Mann makes it clear that it was his decision to leave Days, and it was not reached easily.

As he attends the University of Michigan, his time was divided between the West Coast, to film DOOL and the Midwest for school.

Essentially, he chose education over his acting career. He came to the realization that the travel was impeding his ability to obtain his musical theatre degree, and juggling both was just becoming too much.

Still, he’s happy that his replacement, actor Leo Howard, gets to jump into the Salem action with a blank storyline now that Tate’s legal woes are behind him!
