The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease a trip into the past isn’t what it’s cracked up to be for Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).

The old rivalry between Christine “Cricket” Williams (Lauralee Bell) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) over him has returned-and he’s tired of being in the middle of a love feud!

This rivalry has been going on since the 1990s, but this time it is a little different-Phyllis and Danny have become close friends and co-parents. True, their “child” is now a grown man with a daughter of his own, with his own romantic problems.

But lately, Phyllis has returned to be the schemer she’s always been, and her hatred of Christine, who she calls “Bug”-and she intends to squash her!

Part of Danny’s problem, though, is with himself-when Phyllis first kissed him, he kissed her back-that was what started the whole cycle back then. And this even though he very much wants to make a romance work with Christine, he’s too susceptible to Phyllis’ flirting.

Y & R Spoilers: Torn Between Two Ex-Lovers

Torn between two ex-lovers is making Danny feel like a fool, and although he does admire how Phyllis has tried to turn her life around, he’s confused in his feelings.

But then, Christine isn’t playing the cleanest game either, shooting a gloating smile to Phyllis when she saw Danny and her hugging. She also told a little white lie to her rival recently when telling her about the weekend getaway planned for herself and Danny, claiming it was his idea.

But Danny is getting good and tired of being the peacemaker between these two rivals and at the same time being the subject of their rivalry. Christine tells lies, Phyllis plays games, and Danny tires of the drama.

It looks like Danny’s staying in town, at least for a while but it’s not for the two women. He’s there for his family-and things came to a head when Phyllis had him sing a song and filmed him and posted it on social media.

Complete with a caption her ex sang her a love song, he called her out on it and he was mad!

And of course Christine saw it and she came over to the jazz club and saw Phyllis as she’d grabbed him and started passionately kissing him. Since he wasn’t exactly pushing her away, Christine lost patience and dumped him; and he’ll kick Phyllis to the curb quickly!
