The beloved Harry Potter saga will continue in a new form. And for those who loved entering the world of wizardry via the Harry Potter books and films, a TV show series belongs on the eagerly anticipated must-see list.
Find out about the new Harry Potter TV show. And keep reading to discover what insiders revealed.
Back in April, news broke that a Harry Potter TV show would become available. And execs revealed that the wizard TV series would stream on Max, per Pop Culture.
Some fans worried that the series would fall into the cancelled category. However, a new report reveals that Max will keep the Harry Potter TV show. And writers have submitted what insiders call a “marathon of pitches.”
TV script writers have competed to win the right to adapt J.K. Rowling’s books. And the streaming platform chose a group of writers to craft pitches for the TV series. That group includes Martha Hillier, Kathleen Jordan, Tom Moran, and Michael Leslie.
And for Harry Potter fans impatient for the new series, Max has completed the first round of pitch meetings. As a result, the script pitches chosen will progress to the next round in the UK.
Because of the combination of British and American contributors on the Harry Potter team, the shift to the UK offers the opportunity for a different look at how to turn the beloved books into a TV series. And Max has decided to consider multiple concepts based on the Harry Potter saga.
“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way,” stated Casey Bloys, the Chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content. And as the HBO & Max Content CEO reflected on the Harry Potter series, Bloys pointed to the significance.
As the CEO pointed out, “Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon. And it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”
However, the team in charge still must evaluate and then choose the pitches for the series. But an outline does exist for what’s considered “a decade-long” process,” per Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav. And insiders urge patience because the process remains in its early stages.
However, Deadline offered an update that the Harry Potter television series has taken a step closer to completion. And Warner Bros. Discovery shared that the series based on the “classic wizarding world” would come soon to its streaming service Max. As a result, writers remain eager to get the right to adapt J.K. Rowling’s seven books.
