The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) plays Grinch to Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) or is that Krampus? Phyllis may not literally put a lump of coal in Cricket’s stocking, but she will think of the next best thing!
There’ll be quite the diverse group at Danny Romalotti’s (Michael Damian) Christmas gathering-but he probably shouldn’t count on peace on earth and good will towards everyone!
Summer Newman, (Allison Lanier) Phyllis Newman, (Michelle Stafford) Daniel Romalotti, (Michael Graziadei) Heather Stevens, (Vail Bloom) Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) will all be there-along with Christine and Danny!
With Phyllis and her still arch rival Christine in the same gathering, there’s bound to be animosity-especially since Phyllis has been cozying up to Danny again. She’s even started calling Christine derogatory names, like “bug”.
2023 was a rough year for Christine, losing her big case against Phyllis and her long marriage to Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) breaking up.
But now that other ex-husband Danny has moved back to Genoa City, her bad luck might change-Danny’s the comfort male in her life, the safe man she can always count on.
So Christine is really getting into the Christmas spirit, and getting back her fun “Cricket energy” she always had when she was young; the side that hasn’t emerged in years. Christine is going to grab any kind of happiness she can get her hands on and run with it from now on-some of her friends don’t recognize this happiness in her!
She meets with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) at Society, who delivers a wrapped gift Christine picked out at Fenmore’s that will have significance from his past.
Lauren thinks Danny will love the gift, and wants to know if Chris and Danny are back together after all these years. Christine hesitates in answering, not wanting to make more of it than it is but they have enjoyed spending time with each other.
It’s the first time they’ve been in one place at the same time at Christmas-she’s not looking for dating for its own sake.
Dating would have to have some meaning behind it and with Danny, it feels good because it’s familiar territory. Christine then heads over to Daniel’s apartment where Danny is also staying, for the Christmas get together.
Christine arrives with her gift and doesn’t realize that she’s not the only one invited-inside, Danny is playing his electric piano and Christmas caroling has commenced.
Christine was so caught up in the excitement of seeing Danny and giving him this gift the thought of Phyllis being there didn’t occur to her-but Phyllis is included family.
Christine isn’t sure she’s in the mood to tangle with Phyllis right now and she almost rethinks ringing the doorbell, but she does anyway.
Of course, it’s Phyllis that answers and offers an obviously fake smile-Christine discerns the smile of competition, and for a second wonders if getting back with Danny will be worth it!
