General Hospital Spoilers: Digital Drama ‘The Bay’ Honors Late General Hospital Star Jacklyn Zeman

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the late Jacklyn Zeman debuted as the multi-faceted character Bobbie Spencer in 1978. The daytime vet died in May at the age of 70 after a short battle with cancer.

Zeman also appeared on the digital drama The Bay as Sofia Madison and today the show’s executive producer Gregori Martin posted on Instagram the drama’s plan to honor Zeman.

The post featured a series of show clips and the message: “Don’t miss THE BAY Episode 804: THE HUNDREDTH this Thursday, December 14th! Our 100th episode special will feature a montage tribute to honor TV legends Jacklyn Zeman and Nicolas Coster in their roles as psychic medium Sofia Madison and Mayor Jack Madison; the episode will also feature special montages that will take viewers back to some of Bay City’s most iconic moments as Pete Garrett and Zoey Johnson enjoy the memories at the towns “classic” hotspot ‘The Garrett Tavern!’”

Fans can watch this season’s episodes of The Bay each weekday on Popstar! TV. According to the post “Season 8 episodes will also be available on demand on multiple streaming platforms in early 2024. Shot at Associated Television International, The Bay is written by Gregori J Martin and Wendy Riche” the latter a former GH writer.

GH Spoilers: The Bay Featured Jackie Zeman

Fellow daytime icon Nicolas Coster (ex-Lionel, Santa Barbara) died in June and played Sofia’s husband, Jack Madison. Coster was last seen on the show in Season 5 and Zeman’s character Sofia can still be seen through the end of the month.

Jacklyn Zeman death was first announced by the GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini who tweeted “I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Jackie Zeman. Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and a true professional that brought so much positive energy with her work.”

The ABC sudser is expected to air a memorial episode which addresses the character’s passing; Bobbie is currently written as being in Amsterdam taking care of her late brother Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) estate.
