The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) did not want to be near Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) in recent months.

She told Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that he was bad news and was trying to will herself away from his younger brother.

But the soapy heart wants what the soapy heart wants. So, Nick was written away from Genoa City, Wisconsin, on a business trip for Kirsten Incorporated and he agreed to help Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) run.

Adam used that opportunity to chat Sally up and have dinner with her. That would not have happened if Nick were in town, and neither would the drinks Sally and Adam shared or the kiss he gave outside of her Genoa City Athletic Club suite.

Sally never saw Nick as a rebound from Adam, at least not consciously. She did not lead Nick on and for his part, Morrow’s character allowed Sally to demure before they became involved.

Nick and Adam have loved the same woman on more than one occasion, with Sharon and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) being the prominent examples of that sibling rivalry.

The late Sage Newman (Kelly Sullivan) was not someone Adam loved but they did get together and Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) was born.

Adam understands Nick’s feelings and has been deferential. He did that while feeling certain Sally was still in love with him and that Nick was a placeholder.

Sally offered some cover for Adam after he claimed a pursuit of redemption. Like Sharon and Chelsea, she has a soft spot for him in her heart.

It does feel like Adam recognized Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) wanting to leave GC was a major red flag.

He also is calculating, to some degree, that an easier road to the top of Newman Enterprises was possible if he told his father and others that he wanted to make amends with the family.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sally Spectra Can Not Rationalize Love

Sally loves Adam. The tragedy of Ava Hope’s loss was surely a significant moment in her and Adam’s lives that reaffirmed their bond.

Nick is a great guy. He was championed by Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) as Sally’s best possible option. But logic is not love.

Adam does care about Sally, but he draws her into repeated drama. She left Los Angeles, California on The Bold and the Beautiful to try and change her life. But it now seems like a reconciliation with Adam will test that goal on Y&R.
