The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) looked into his wife’s eyes and lied to her.

He justified when saying that he and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) were no longer seeing each other because of Summer Newman Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) supposedly horrible moral crime she committed against him.

Exaggeration was used above to underscore just how far off course Kyle has allowed himself to veer. He acted on an immature impulse when deciding that he needed to divorce Summer because of how she handled her mother’s death hoax.

Generally, more than one person could not claim to have experience with a faked death hoax. But this is Genoa City, Wisconsin.

So, people beyond Summer and Kyle have personal experience with loved ones claiming to have died, with both of their mothers faking being murdered. Yet, that should have made Kyle more sympathetic to the position Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) forced her children to be in.

Kyle is Diane Jenkins Abbott’s (Susan Walters) only child. So, there is some room for consideration because he did not have a sibling to commiserate with, like Summer did.

However, as devoted viewers recall, Summer was told by Phyllis to withhold the news about her being alive from Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).

Phyllis believed Daniel would share the news about her being alive. She believed Summer would keep the confidence.

But Summer told Daniel and it is good that she did. Eventually, all was resolved, including Phyllis getting a kind-hearted judge who provided an extraordinarily lenient sentence, again proving how subjective so-called justice is.

Audra was attracted to Kyle and had no qualms about becoming involved with him while he was having marriage problems with Summer. Silver’s character exploited his vulnerability and Kyle tossed his vows to Summer in the trash.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Summer’s grandmother and the new head of Newman Media, told Audra straight out that her connection with Kyle was over if she wanted to keep her job.

Audra values money and access to power. So, she went along with Nikki’s call to tell Kyle he was out at Newman Media. Whether that could mean a rebound with Summer remains to be seen on Y&R.
