Days of our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for the week of September 25, 2023, have some unusual comings and goings so let’s not waste another minute dishing all the dirt that’s fit to print!
On Friday, September 29 Zach Tinker once again takes his leave of Salem when his character Sonny Kiriakis departs. Sonny was one of many DOOL characters who came back to town to attend the funeral for Victor Kiriakis (the late John Aniston).
By now DOOL fans know that the inimitable Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) is alive. And as such, on Thursday, September 28 the audience will see her framer husband Edmund Crumb (Adam Caine).
With the return of Susan, fans have been speculating that we may see her ex and they were right (soap fans usually are!). We last saw Edmund back in the last century, specifically in the year 1998.
After a quarter of a century, Edmund is seen once more when he shares scenes with Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).
Once Ava realized that Susan is indeed alive, and EJ DiMera (Dan Feurrigeiel) sent an assassin to kill her, the two broke out of the insane asylum and hightailed it to England in order to find Susan and absolve Ava of her death.
Soaps are known for requiring fans to suspend disbelief. But even this next move is hard to wrap one’s head around.
For starters, Jen Lilley, who just returned as Theresa Donovan, is out again. But that’s not all.
The next time fans see Theresa she will be played by Emily O’Brien who currently portrays Gwen Rizczech. Got that?
Lilley confirmed her exit on her social media where she also provided a bit of the background behind this unique switcheroo. In a nutshell, there were some unexpected circumstances behind the scenes which resulted in her taping for about half the time she thought she would.
It is a tale worthy of a soapy storyline, but in the end the character will remain onscreen, just with another actress in the role. Tell us what you think about this DOOL fans!
