General Hospital (GH) spoilers leak Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) is about to have a crisis of conscience. When he first arrived in Port Charles, his only intention was to get his hands on the Ice Princess necklace. Finding out along the way that Mac Scorpio (John J. York) was his father was not something Cody ever intended on doing. But he got wrapped up in the idea of having a dad – especially one like Mac. Still, when the paternity test came back showing that Mac was his father, Cody made a split-second decision to lie about it. In his heart of hearts, he decided he wanted money more than a father. Is that still the case today?
Cody is about to reconvene with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), his attorney — who is going to bring good news. They’ve got the go-ahead to proceed with this lawsuit against one of the biggest federal organizations in the country. The WSB has been in the news lately, thanks to Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) last remaining gift to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) — the end of her career as she knows it. The public is already crucifying the organization, and a lawsuit like this could devastate them. But that’s none of Cody’s business. He just wants his money.
Will Cody share this news with Dante Falcoenri (Dominic Zamprogna)? Dante is likely to ask all the right — ahem, tough — questions. How can Cody possibly go after an inheritance that isn’t his? How is he going to live with himself if he is awarded this money? That might give Cody a good laugh at first until Dante points out that Cody has a choice to make. If he is awarded damages in this lawsuit, he will never have the chance to come clean to Mac or anyone else about who his father really is. He will have to live out the rest of his life as though he is Leopold Taub’s (Chip Lucia) son. Is the fortune worth it?
Cody could be caught off guard by everything Dante has to say. Perhaps he didn’t give this as much long-term thought as he should have. But saying goodbye to millions of dollars is a big ask, and Cody isn’t sure that it’s worth the trade-off. Moreover, he still doesn’t feel like he’s deserving of having a father like Mac. Would he pay millions of dollars to have a father? He’s been doing just fine without one, right? That might give Dante a laugh in return as he notes Cody’s definition of fine is questionable.
