In a recent Instagram Story, Isabel wanted to share more about breastfeeding. She wrote, “There are many supportive messages re: still breastfeeding my son at 18 months, but here is the occasional message like this.” She then shared a screenshot of the message that she received from rude followers. It read, “Well maybe a Dr shouldn’t say that, but it is kind of gross.” They were referring to a previous Story that Isabel shared that Mateo was still breastfeeding. Isabel asked the troll, “Gross, where?”

Isabel has gotten a lot of love for how she doesn’t share photos of her child with Jacob Roloff on social media. She always hides his face and doesn’t want him to be on social media until he can make that choice. Mateo was born in 2021 and even though Isabel has been open about her struggles as a new mother, she loves him so much.

Isabel has shared with her fans that she has had some challenges when it comes to being a mother. She has gone through some severe depression and has doubted herself quite a lot since giving birth. When it comes to breastfeeding, she wrote, “Nourishing my baby with my body is not something I take lightly or for granted. It’s so special to me. We had a bit of a rough start at the beginning of our breastfeeding journey due to Mateo having a severe tongue tie, which made it hard for him to gain weight in the beginning.”

She went on, “It was frustrating for both of us. I think I was prepared for a lot of aspects around birth, motherhood, and newborns, but I was probably the least informed on breastfeeding. It seems as though it should just come naturally and be a piece of cake when really both mom and baby are learning a new skill, and that’s no easy feat. It takes time to figure it all out.” Isabel’s fans look forward to her updates about Mateo and about motherhood.
