Why else would she be so desperate to get Carly out of the picture? Nina already has the man and the ring but that’s not enough for her. She needs Carly to be banished from Sonny’s orbit — forever. Frantic to eliminate her competition, Nina tattled to the SEC on Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), and now she has struggled to live with that secret, constantly worried that Sonny will find out and abandon her.

Taking Ava’s advice to heart, Nina is finally going to muster up the courage to call off the wedding — temporarily, of course. This decision will shock Sonny, and he’s going to be left with many questions that she’ll have to scramble to answer. Nina realizes that sooner or later, the truth about her involvement in Carly’s downfall will come to light. By pausing the wedding plans, she hopes to gain more time to manipulate the situation in her favor. That being said, Sonny isn’t going to understand why she wants a long engagement, and he may take it as though Nina isn’t sure she wants to marry him at all.

Willow Tait Serves As The Perfect Excuse

Nurse Clara (Susan Diol) and Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattson) have been doing a number on Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), and she just might bounce back from her bone marrow transplant with a new lease on life — quite literally. If Willow approaches Nina with an olive branch that may let her into her life a bit more, Nina is going to jump at the chance to exploit it. This could be the perfect excuse to give Sonny as to why Nina just cannot focus on wedding planning right now. She would much rather postpone the happy day as she works on her relationship with her daughter, whom she hopes will eventually be her matron of honor. What guy wouldn’t accept that excuse? Willow isn’t going to be happy when it all comes out in the wash and she realizes she has been used as a part of Nina’s ploy to dodge all accountability for her actions.
