Tucker has not earned an established place in Devon’s life. The late Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) had battles with Tucker and Devon. The Grande Dame of Genoa City, Wisconsin, knew about reinvention, with her offspring emulating that process to various degrees.

So, the seemingly accelerating timeline indicates that this couple should fully reconcile with or without their children’s endorsement, whether it lasts or not. While Abby and Devon’s suspicions are mostly justified, they should not hold sway over their parents on Y&R.
