The Young And The Restless (Y&R) News: Eric Braeden Weighs In On Alec Baldwin’s Rust Controversy
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) star Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) recently had something to say about Alec Baldwin’s Rust controversy. As many fans know, the Hollywood actor has been charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter back for the accidental shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The other charge is involuntary manslaughter in the commission of a lawful act. Baldwin could face up to five years in prison.
The Young And the Restless Spoilers – Eric Braeden Weighs In On Alec Baldwin’s Rust Controversy
Eric, who almost always has something to say about either politics or world events, took to his Twitter account to write, “I have done hundreds of guest starring roles on nighttime tv and films! The usual procedure is this: the prop master ( armorer) gives gun & demonstrates 2 actor that gun is empty! actor is shown the magazine & barrel 2 prove it is empty! Never was that responsibility of ACTOR, NEVER.”
In other words, it sounds like Eric is trying to defend Alec in this situation. But of course, a lot of his fans and followers certainly had a lot to say about the matter. Some commented with, “I’ve been an educator and artist my entire life. Even though I know little about the film industry, Alec Baldwin did not fire the weapon with intention. It is ludicrous to think he would. Thank you EBraeden for shedding rational thought on a situation that could happen to anyone,” along with, “Based on your expertise as an actor, it sounds like the prop master did not take the step to show the barrel was empty. It seems the industry standards are there with protocol not followed. Very sad outcome for all involved.”

Eric then responded with, “It’ s simply absurd to attribute intentionality to that tragedy! And I assure you NO ONE feels worse about what happened than A Baldwin! It was the result of negligence by both, the prop master and ASSISTANT DIRECTOR!”
When Eric has a opinion – just like his alter ego Victor Newman – you know that he’s always going to be right!
