Douglas had wanted the truth to come to light. Douglas took his aunt Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) into his confidence about the plan that Thomas had to bring Taylor and Ridge together. Douglas and Steffy decided to bring the truth about Thomas to light.

Hope and Liam had been upset to find out that Thomas had plotted against Brooke. Hope did not want to work with Thomas on Hope for the Future. Hope had gotten help from Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) to try to take the fashion line in a different direction.
