Reddit user u/Icecreamandgoldens recently started a thread discussing the couple’s offensive remarks. The Redditor shared a screenshot from one of Audrey’s recent Instagram stories and it showed Jeremy talking about going to Disney as a kid with his parents.

Audrey captioned the clip, writing, “Because of his parent’s handicap, they would just walk in the exits, but they also were filming, so they were escorted around through all the trap doors and back alleyways.” Fans quickly came down hard on Audrey and her husband.

Little People, Big World fans were outraged that Audrey used the word “handicapped” and took quick notice that the TLC personality even misspelled the word. One Redditor commented, “I find it crazy that he grew up his whole life with little people parents and a twin brother, and he calls their condition a ‘handicap.’ Who says that anymore?”

Why Fans Are So Angry

Jeremy’s twin brother Zach as well as both of his parents have a genetic condition called achondroplasia. It’s a common form of dwarfism that negatively impacts everyday life. Because of this condition, when the family is visiting Disney, they aren’t made to wait in line.

What shocked fans about Audrey’s comment is that her husband grew up around the condition and experienced many of the hardships firsthand. It makes what might have been an innocent slip seem ultra-insensitive.
