General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Esme Asks Laura To Take Her Baby Boy Until She Can

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) is about to put all of her eggs in one basket and pray that everything works out for the best. Esme has been struggling with the loss of her memory. She’s vulnerable and an easy target — and everybody knows it. Before Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) confessed the truth to her about what she and Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) did – holding her hostage – Esme felt pretty confident that she could trust both Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Now, she’s not so sure, but she may not have much of a choice if she wants to do what is in the best interest of her son, Ace Cassadine.

General Hospital Spoilers — Laura Collins Was There When it Mattered

Despite all of Esme’s concerns about Spencer and Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) having their own agendas and all Cassadines being awful people, Laura was right — she is not a Cassadine. She has also shown Esme compassion from the very start, which makes sense since she was advocating for her even to Nikolas, though Esme doesn’t know that. However, there is one prominent memory for Esme that she won’t be able to shake off. When Esme was in labor and giving birth at Wyndemere, Laura was right by her side acting as her coach, and even somewhat as the maternal figure Esme never had in her life. At that moment, Esme couldn’t have asked for more.

She’s going to find a way to ask for more now, though. Esme is headed back to prison, and although New York law allows her to take her baby with her for a time, she knows it isn’t best for Ace to be in prison. She wants him to be in a safe environment with a consistent routine that he can grow up trusting and feeling secure in. Knowing the only time she has felt anything resembling safety and security since being hospitalized was when she was braced against Laura and giving birth to the sound of her voice reassuring her, Esme is going to ask Laura to be the primary caregiver for her baby boy.

Someone Could Try to Unravel All of Laura’s Efforts

Laura has raised one of Nikolas’ sons already. It’s not surprising to her that she would end up doing it again in his absence. However, she’s older now, and being the Mayor of Port Charles certainly keeps her busy.

Is she ready for the role of acting motherhood all over again, or are those years behind her? She may not have time to choose for herself before someone else inserts their opinion and tries to unravel all of Laura’s efforts to get Esme to trust her.
