General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) opened up to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) just enough to get him concerned about Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) and any attempt he may make to harm their daughter, Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola). Sonny doesn’t mess around where his kids are concerned, and Nikolas would have done well to remember that. Last time this happened — when Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) convinced Sonny that Nik and Ava were planning to leave town without word and take Avery with them — his rebuttal wasn’t pretty. My, my, how short Nik’s memory is. Likewise, his wife, Ava, took matters into her own hands and bludgeoned him over the head. When Ava tells Sonny the whole truth about what she’s done, it’s anyone’s guess what he’ll do next.

As soon as Ava started letting the words roll off her tongue that Nikolas threatened Avery, she regretted mentioning a word of it. She was clearly testing the waters to see just how honest she could be with Sonny, but this wasn’t a conversation she wanted to have with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) present, nor in the middle of the Metro Court restaurant. Later, Ava is going to divulge everything to Sonny when they have more privacy, and Sonny is going to be the supportive friend she needs at the time — not that Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) hasn’t been doing a good job of that.

General Hospital Updates – Sonny Corinthos Says Good Riddance!

Ava knows she can rely on Sonny because Nik’s target was their daughter. No one else will care about Avery’s wellbeing as much as Ava does, nor in the same way. Sonny will immediately understand why Ava reacted the way she did, and he’s going to support her the best way he knows how to. However, he might wish she would have come to him right away instead of trying to cover her tracks with Austin. Now, no one knows where Nikolas is, or if he’s dead or alive. Regardless, it’s likely he or someone else knows what Ava did.

Not So Fast

Sonny won’t be unhappy to hear Nik is probably gone for good, but he’s going to worry his daughter’s mother could pay a high price for his disappearance. How will he be able to help Ava as long as Austin knows the truth, too? Does he need to eliminate him to extract the risk he poses to his family, or will Austin keep quiet? The bigger trouble might be his cousin, Mason (Nathanyael Grey), who has been targeting Ava. If Mason is doomed to cross paths with Sonny, we can’t wait to see how it pans out.
