The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Lawrence Saint-Victor Marks 10-Year Anniversary!
In 2009, the light went out on Lawrence Saint-Victor’s role as Remy Boudreau on Guiding Light. But soon after stepping off one soap opera stage, the actor stepped onto another. And Saint-Victor talked with TV about marking a full decade as Carter Walton on The Bold and the Beautiful.
But the actor also has taken on other roles. For instance, in a Law & Order: SVU episode, Saint-Victor portrayed a paramedic who interacted with Mariska Hargitay’s character. Calling the experience “amazing,” the actor recalled originally landing that job during his time on Guiding Light. Mariska behaves like the “captain of the football team. She’s No. 1 on the call sheet. It was cool to watch her run things and protect her actors. It was a lot of fun,” shared Lawrence.
However, the actor expressed even more enthusiasm for his years at The Bold And The Beautiful. “When I first met [executive producer/head writer] Brad Bell, it was pretty amazing. We hit it off right away. I had been watching B&B since I was a kid. My aunt would turn it on. I’d get home from school and we’d watch. I was fascinated with the crossover with Sheila and Lauren [from The Young and the Restless] to B&B,” recalled Saint-Victor.
The Bold And The Beautiful Updates – Carter Walton Wants More From Life!
Lawrence shared that he instantly fell in love with every cast member. “John McCook [Eric], Alley Mills [Pam] … Texas [Battle, ex-Marcus] and I bonded as brothers instantly. I was scared at first,” he admitted. But Saint-Victor felt “instantly put at ease when I came to B&B.” And he feels thankful today for his career. “To be a working actor is a blessing,” summed up the Bold And The Beautiful star. “They could have hired any day player to officiate weddings but they had me do it and I never took that for granted. They still wanted Carter to be a part of the B&B world.”
And as he looks at Carter’s most recent years as COO of Forrester,Saint-Victor recalled how his character became ambitious. When Carter took on the COO role, the actor saw it as a “surreal” experience. “I love seeing this character grow,” added Saint-Victor. “He became more important to the family — an honorary Forrester. To have a father figure in Eric and a brother in Ridge [Thorsten Kaye]? It all made sense. It was fun to play Carter on Cloud 9 knowing that eventually something would knock him down.”
B&B Spoilers: Does Lawrence Saint-Victor Pen His Own Role?
As an actor and a writer, Saint-Victor has learned to separate himself from his character. And that’s particularly important when he receives assignments to pen scripts for episodes in which Carter stars. “They’re fun to write. I really enjoy taking a step back and seeing things from the point of view of other characters.”
And beyond his co-stars, the Bold And The Beautiful actor appreciates writing scenes for Carter. “Writing allows me to help understand Carter better. Seeing things before they take shape is helpful,” explained Saint-Victor. But although he writes for and plays Carter, “at the end of the day, the show has one creator: Brad,” summed upLawrence.
Saint-Victor expressed appreciation to B&B’s creator as well as its fans. “B&B has the best fans. Daytime has the most consistent loyal fan base. To know that they’ve supported Carter means a lot. Brad hasbeen this wonderful mentor,” shared the actor. And he summed up, “I don’t have words to show how grateful I am to B&B and to Brad. This has been a dream come true.”
