Disney Announces Avatar Experience Coming To Disneyland in California
Disney Avatar fans have reason to celebrate. This month Disney made the official announcement and confirmed what we have all been predicting for a while now, Disney Parks is officially planning an Avatar experience on the West Coast.
Avatar has far exceeded fans and Disney’s expectations and grown wildly popular over the years, so it’s a bit surprising that Disney Parks has waited this long to start working on an Avatar experience at one of their parks.
Bob Iger recently touched on the latest Avatar movie’s impressive performance during Disney’s first-quarter earnings call. The new Avatar movie has already broken dozens of box office records and doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.
Disney Announces New Avatar Attraction
Iger explained, “We have learned that when we invest in increasing capacity, the Star Wars lands would be a good example of that, Pandora was a great example of that, we can grow our business. In fact, if you look at the results, when we put Pandora in Animal Kingdom, from year to year, they were stunning in terms of how many more people visited Animal Kingdom.”
According to the latest stats from The Hollywood Reporter, “Avatar: The Way of Water has sailed past Titanic at the global box office with $2.243.3 billion in global ticket sales to become the No. 3 movie of all time, not adjusted for inflation.”
How Many More Avatar Movies Will There Be
Walt Disney & Co has confirmed there are more Avatar movies in the pipeline. Although, they have not announced official titles or cast members, Avatar 3 is predicted to his theaters in 2024, Avatar 4 in 2026, and Avatar 5 in 2028. However, a lot could change between now and then.
So far details regarding the new Avatar experience are scarce. To this date, the only Disney Avatar attraction in the entire world is Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. As soon as more details are available surrounding the new attraction, we will be sure to pass them along. Keep checking CBL daily for more Disney news and updates.
