General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is going to struggle to wrap her head around the idea that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is her birth mother. Even though Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) believes her story and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is confessing — which does her no favors — Willow just can’t digest the news. However, Nina is on a warpath to get tested and find out if she may be a match for Willow’s bone marrow donation needs. Everyone might have long forgotten that Willow had another bone marrow donor lined up just days ago who ended up being unable to donate to her. The truth about that match might come to light now and cement the reality of this situation for Willow when it is revealed that the alleged donor was supposed to have been Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

Britt might have had a checkered past in Port Charles, but she was a good samaritan by the end of it all. She wanted to help people; that’s why she became a doctor. She loved life and helping people bring their babies into the world. It only makes sense that she would selflessly put herself on lists for things like bone marrow donation. Still, the call for her help came just a few days too late.

General Hospital Updates –  Willow Tait’s Doctors Couldn’t Identify Her

When Britt came up as a match in the donor system, it was entirely too late for anything to be done about it. She had just died, and the realization that she was Willow’s match floored Dr. Terry Randolph (Cassandra James). Of course, Terry just assumed it was a miraculous long shot that someone else right in Port Charles who knew and was treating Willow ended up being a match for her. She never imagined there was any blood relation between Britt and Willow, given that Willow was adopted. Terry did let Britt’s mother, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), know about the match result, but Liesl also thought nothing of it because Terry couldn’t tell Liesl who the patient was, and Liesl still wouldn’t have connected any dots between them. Nonetheless, Terry could have gone to Liesl and requested that she be screened as a match, and Liesl might have turned her down because she’s struggling so much right now with her grief.

Willow Accepts Her New Reality

When Willow finds out Britt was the potential donor for her, it’s going to make it all seem real for her. Nina really is her birth mother. Moreover, if Britt was a match, then perhaps Nina will be, too. Even Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) could be a match for his mother because he is technically her nephew as he was born to Willow’s twin sister, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier). Accepting that she is Nelle’s twin is going to be a harder pill for Willow to swallow than accepting Nina as her birth mother. That might not change things for Willow, but saving her life could.
