Jack decided to remain single in recent years. The long storyline involved his late mother, Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), which was partially based on a perceived message being sent. Jack was to pursue the subjective subject of love.

Diane has loved Jack for decades. While they share a child, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Walters and Bergman’s characters were never married. Diane would like to change that.

Projections can be easily made for a wedding ceremony being seen sometime next year or Phyllis finally convincing Jack that Diane is not a good fit for his life.
