The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is suspicious. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is so involved in “helping” Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) she can’t help but think they’ll cross the line and renew their affair.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Trauma Brings People Closer

Billy just saved Chelsea from taking her own life, and even though he didn’t come right out and tell Lily that, she knows that Chelsea weathered a trauma with Billy’s help. Those kinds of situations tend to bring people close or closer emotionally, and with Billy and Chelsea’s background Lily’s really worried that sparks will reignite. Lily knows that Chelsea is Johnny Abbott’s (Paxton Mishkind) birth mother and that bonds Billy to her even though Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) adopted him at birth.

Now Billy’s spending more time with Chelsea than he is with her, and his leaving Chancellor-Winters recently means they see even less of each other. Lily fears that the same thing will happen as did with her brother Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and passion will erupt between them unexpectedly.

Devon didn’t have to say it when Lily found out through the grapevine that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) left his wife suddenly. All she had to do is put two and two together after Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) sudden exit from the company and Devon’s sad demeanor. Although she didn’t spread the rumor to Billy, when he assures her nothing untoward will happen between him and Chelsea, she questions how he can say that. There’s that bond between him and Chelsea now and she can sense it in Billy’s worry over her; it’s a protective worry, not a detached one. That’s the kind of bond that breaks up marriages and live-together relationships.

Intentions Don’t Come Into Play

Intentions never came into play with Devon regarding Abby, and Lily knows that if Billy crosses the line it won’t have anything to do with intentions either. But Lily isn’t even buying that there wasn’t anything subconscious going on and Devon’s co-parenting bond hid much more. Billy and Chelsea already have a bond and it’s getting stronger, Lily can sense Billy’s and hers falling apart.

Lily doesn’t feel the connection with Billy that she once did, even though he denies there’s anything going on with Chelsea other than a deep friendship. But that’s the kind that leads to friends finding out they’re really lovers, and Lily fears she and Billy will inevitably part.
