Y&R’s most recent recast has St. John assuming the role that was last played by daytime veteran Stephen Nichols (Tucker, and currently Patch on Days of our Lives). This version of Tucker wants to be a power player in GC.

Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was at least linked to Tucker while she was in Los Angeles, California, playing dead and using the assumed name, Taylor Jensen. How she factors into current events is yet to be seen.

A refresher is for hardcore fans, with newer viewers needing to know Tucker’s backstory. He is Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) son and Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) biological father. Devon is Tucker’s only known child.

Tucker is an influential music industry mogul who helped Devon to further his interest in the business before leaving town years ago. Devon occasionally mentioned his father and appears to have maintained a connection with him.

Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) was last married to Tucker. She is the only woman Tucker is ever known to have married.

Tucker’s text request to Diane asked her to let him know when Ashley returned to GC. Jack told Tucker that Ashley was not in town at the vow renewal ceremony that was crashed via the helicopter entrance.

Diane was seen in Tucker’s hotel suite before Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) event. The audience learned during that conversation that Tucker was responsible for facilitating Diane’s return to the living and move back to Wisconsin.

Why she is key to Tucker’s goals is unknown. But Diane is hoping that Tucker keeps their connection secret. The likelihood that everyone will eventually learn of it is high as this is daytime.

Tucker McCall Wants Power And Love

Tucker’s money and bravado imply that he will help Devon to try and thwart or prevent Newman Enterprises’ takeover of Chancellor Winters. St. John’s character appears eager to reassert his place in GC society, with a business base expanding beyond music interests.

Ashley is a recurring character. So, Tucker’s interest in an apparent reconciliation is encouraging as it could mean that the ever-great Davidson returns to regular work on Y&R.
