Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) has fewer qualifications than Sally to run the Newman Enterprises Media division. A thorough check of his performance at Chancellor-Winters would reveal an uneven ride that included him routinely challenging the co-owners authority and him conspiring to trade insider information in exchange for the top spot in it once Newman Enterprises took it over.

No rational business leader would choose Nate to replace Sally. But Victoria is not thinking straight.

Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) humiliated and enraged Victoria. He attacked her self-confidence and exposed the limits of her business acumen.

Nate is not comparable to Ashland. But Dominic’s character is exhibiting some traits of his character through his underhanded actions.

Victoria is still reeling from her high-profile marriage to Ashland. She is also attempting to prove that her mind for power and money moves is strong. Nate reflects on an attempt to surround herself with people she trusts.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Nate Hastings Lost His Vocation

Nate was knocked down physically and mentally when Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) attacked him in the recent past. Devon’s punch to the face resulted in Nate falling and badly injuring one of his hands.

Needed surgery left Nate unable to continue working as a surgeon. Devon stole Nate’s vocation from him and does not feel sorry about it.

Devon did not intend to end Nate’s medical career. He does not feel sorry for Dominic’s character because of the violation of trust that happened with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy).

Elena Dawson’s Feelings Are Mixed

Elena loves Nate, but she feels his bitterness is driving him off a soapy cliff. She can no longer support him while he remains determined to exact revenge.

Yes, Nate did tell his cousins about the attempt to take over CW, with him becoming CEO. But his lack of self-awareness disturbs Elena. She can not align herself with someone whose morals stand in stark contrast to her own, with viewers knowing that Elena did betray Devon’s trust.

It is reasonable to believe Nate and Victoria could click if Elena and Nate remain split. Victoria and Nate believe they were wronged and want to right themselves. The potential for this pairing is worth watching on Y&R.
