It’s never really made much sense that Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noell) was able to quickly draw up papers allowing her to adopt Douglas Forrester when she was only married to his dad for a hot minute and she had no real legal right to a child who was by no means an orphan.

Was Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) in his right mind then? No. Would it have made sense for Hope or at least a member of Douglas’ family to take him in and care for him until his dad could turn things around? Yes. But, somehow Hope got Thomas to sign over permanent papers that made Hope his mother. He never imagined more than two years later that Hope would still continue with this. He is Douglas’ father after all and he is no longer a danger to anyone.

The Bold And The Beautiful Updates – Thomas Forrester Has His Mom And Sister By His Side

Of course, Hope has no intention of letting Douglas go because apparently, she can just claim children as her own whenever she wants to like a common Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) on General Hospital. But Thomas isn’t letting this one go and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) are there by his side to cheer him on. Considering how callous Hope was when she took Beth back while barely allowing Steffy to say goodbye, Steffy is all for a little tit-for-tat here.

“Thomas sees what everyone else in his family sees, that he needed space to deal with things and now it’s a different situation,” Matthew Atkinson said in the August 23, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “Thomas just wants to take his rightful place…He’s not paying Douglas away from Hope. He knows Douglas has bonded with Hope, Liam, and Beth, and he believes they can all make it work.”
