The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that once she returns from visiting her son Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will be feeling better. She’ll even make peace with her worst enemy Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) in upcoming Y & R episodes!
Phyllis tells her daughter, Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) that she realized she had to let her anger against Diane go and move on with her life. Summer challenges her mother to prove it since she knows what Phyllis has told her is much easier said than done – especially for Phyllis! Diane, as far as anyone had known, had been dead for over twenty-five years, and yet the minute Phyllis saw her alive her old anger came to life too!
That is a long time to hold anger against someone, and Phyllis realized it wasn’t doing her any good. Summer tells Phyllis to tell Diane that she’s calling a truce to make peace with their past.
Summer arranges everything for Phyllis and Diane to meet in Chancellor Park so Phyllis can make her peace offering and she tells an astounded Diane she’s letting their past go. Phyllis makes a proposal that they should lay aside their animosity toward each other for their children’s sake and Diane happily agrees and accepts Phyllis’ proposal. Diane, of course, wastes no time in telling Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about the happy news of the peace treaty that was just proposed by Phyllis! As for Jack, he is trying very hard to give Diane a chance because so far, she seems to be doing all the right things. No one could blame him for being a little bit skeptical where Phyllis’ peace treaty is concerned, however.
As for Jack, the second chance he is giving Diane is for Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) sake, not for the sake of Diane primarily. Right now she is on a type of probation but so far she is behaving very well – she’s not even retaliated when she’s been challenged. Diane expects that she will be a town pariah for quite a while, and can’t blame others for their distrust, considering the horrible things she did in the past.
Diane did do some horrible things in the past, not the least of which was faking her death, leaving Kyle devastated as a small boy. She desperately wants to make up for that, and is doing her best to be a good mother to her grown son and hopes to be a good grandmother as well.
Jack is skeptical when Phyllis texts him to meet, especially after hearing about the peace treaty she offered to Diane! He cannot help but again think that the timing is awfully suspicious and wonders if she wanted the peace treaty with Diane to get back together with him! He agrees to meet but he’s cautious and tells her he’ll give her five minutes. As for Phyllis, she feels that things between them were unresolved and in a horrible way, so she wants to clear up his misunderstandings!
