The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) recognizes that she was fooled by Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). But beyond personal betrayal and humiliation, Victoria knows that she put the business her father founded and built-in jeopardy.

Damage control is not Victoria’s objective. No, she intends to prove that Ashland lied about having cancer and engineer his forced removal from what has become Newman-Locke.

Victoria is smart, resilient, hard-working, and gorgeous. Those are powerful weapons in her arsenal.

But Ashland has already demonstrated that he can overcome Victoria’s strengths. He has not defeated her. But if this is considered a war, Ashland has made major advancements, winning all of the battles to date.

Victoria is claiming to believe his story about being set up. So, it stands to reason that he would catch onto her front at some point in the plot.

The problem in proving that Ashland is lying about cancer involves whatever supposed conspiracy proof he will produce. It appears as though Newman’s character is devising a plan that generates information that will be subjective.

Interpreting reality is part of Ashland’s game. So, Victoria will need to not only outwit him but, as he has referenced, stay one step or more ahead of him.

Victoria needs to catch Ashland admitting what he has done to one of his minions and then rapidly exploit what she learns to box her husband in on all sides. He is a master escape artist, meaning this task will not be challenging.

Saboteur Candidates Are Many

Ashland’s actions and words seem to counter his claims of victimhood. Let us assume he was set up, for the sake of soapy argument. So, who would have done that?

Well, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is the most motivated candidate, as he has openly said that Ashland must be pushed out of Victoria’s life and the company.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) believes he deserves the throne. So, sabotaging Ashland, which destabilized Victoria, is something Adam could have done. Of course, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) also could have hatched this plan.

As Ashland said, his enemies are many. Maybe he is innocent in this one instance. If not, it would be wise for fans to lay odds on Victoria to crush him.
