Adam could have attempted to reconcile with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). However, he decided through much soul-searching that they were not good for each other as a couple at this point in their shared histories.

It is hard to argue against Adam’s conclusion. While initially miffed, Sally has come to see her former love’s wisdom.

Adam and Chelsea cared for each other through the years. They also are the parents of two children, Connor and Riley Newman (as played in a dream sequence by Malachi Barton. He is Connor’s older brother who was miscarried approximately a year before Connor was born).

Both people cause each other too much pain to justify further efforts to stay together and so the split happened.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Sally Spectra Is Loyal

Yes, Sally has been loyal to Adam to date. Her detractors, including those who live in Los Angeles, California, and can be seen on Y&R’s sister show, The Bold and the Beautiful, would say that Sally is being supportive for a purpose.

Yet, a more nuanced approach is plausible. Adam could be Sally’s first true soul mate.

She recognized the outcast status that she and Adam share. The dialogue between these characters regularly involves their perceived plights while highlighting forgiveness and optimism. Adam values that Sally does not see negative motives in his every thought and action as so many others do.

Adam Newman Contemplates Tomorrow

Adam grew tired of everyone seeing the worst in him. Eventually, through the angst that he and Chelsea caused each other, Grossman’s character decided to change.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) played a meaningful role in his younger brother’s sincere efforts to be a real part of the Newman family. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) remains a steadfast supporter of Adam while keeping an eye out for slip-back behavior.

Tomorrow with Sally would be different than yesterday with Chelsea or Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). The potential for Adam to hold power over his destiny seems brighter with Sally than without her, with coming drama surely playing into the daytime mix.
