The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers and updates tease that Kimberlin Brown’s (Sheila Carter) efforts in this storyline are outstanding. The range this superb actor is displaying is spectacular.
This B&B stalwart debuted in her crossover character role from The Young and the Restless in 1992. But she never won a Daytime Emmy Award and has only been nominated once (1993), for her efforts on Y&R. Brown debuted on that sister show in 1990.
Brown’s work in the current storyline would not be eligible for an award until 2023. Hopefully, she is nominated and earns this well-deserved honor.
Brown melted down after returning to her hotel suite. She was shaking after showering and disposing of her deceased son’s possessions.
Sheila also threw Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) purse and rings into the black trash bag. Brown’s character intended to shoot her daughter-in-law until John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) stepped in front of her. But that did not prevent Sheila from shooting Steffy moments later as she was trying to call for an ambulance.
Sheila was speaking to herself when admitting that she shot her son. Among all the terrible acts she has committed across more than three decades-plus, this is debatable as the worst. Though she did tell one of her husbands, James Warwick (Ian Buchanan), that Sheila poisoned her father, who she claimed was abusive.
Taking Sheila at her word is an infinite stretch, even if claims about her father are true. But Finn did nothing to the woman who gave him to his father, Jack Finnegan (Ted King), at birth.
Finn just reached out to his birth mother. He was concerned about her following their unexpected meeting on Christmas Eve.
That night seems like a millennium ago, rather than just three-plus months. Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) convinced Steffy that it was okay to invite Sheila to the cliff house for the family get-together. Finn was okay with it because his wife approved.
The leap from then until Finn was shot dead in early April is incredible, even though any longtime fan of B&B, along with characters in the show, predicted eventual horror. Steffy was the loudest voice among them. But people did not follow her wise advice, and now Finn is dead.
Brown’s turn in this role became iconic years ago. Her most recent return to B&B happened last year through her mega reveal to Finn during his wedding party in the Forrester mansion’s guest house.
Linking Sheila to Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) was a daytime delight, as Kanan’s character proved the perfect person to bounce her ideas off. But Deacon, like many others, did not anticipate something this heinous.
Tremendous kudos to TPTB at B&B for crafting a climax to Sheila’s latest comeback as part of this enormous thriller-chiller.
So, did Finn’s life have to end this way? Yes, because his birth mother is Sheila, and she is B&B’s greatest of all-time villain.
