The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Mai Volien (Marianne Rees) is Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) stepdaughter. She is the late Keemo Volien Abbott Nguyen’s (Philip Moon) sister and Jack’s late wife, Luan Volien Abbott’s (Elizabeth Sung), daughter through her first marriage.

Jack has been receiving texts from an unknown source. That person had Jack’s cell phone number, knew he and Keemo were father and son, knew that Keemo had a daughter Jack was unaware of, and knew Jack and Mai were grieving.

It makes complete sense that Mai is the person who wanted Jack and Allie to connect. But logic does mean great soap.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Mai Volien Has Positive Motivation

Reincorporating Mai into the storyline would be easy. This character, who has not been seen since 1996, does not need to appear on-screen. But it would be nice if she did as Mail is part of Jack’s link to Allie, Keemo, and Luan.

If the character Rees played is a plot device, then Jack and Mai and being aided by someone in the know. Mai was close with her brother.

So, it would be natural for Mai to want to connect her only known niece and her late mother’s beloved husband. Mai has not retained a known grudge against Jack either.

The Young And The Restless Updates – Keemo Volien Abbott Nguyen Was Close With His Sister

Keemo lost his mother at a young age. He reconnected with her after living in Vietnam from shortly after his birth into his twenties.

The connection between Luan and Jack was deeply emotional and did not go smoothly at first. As hardcore viewers know, Keemo also misunderstood Jack’s intentions when believing Luan’s terminal illness was intentionally kept from him.

It was not, as Jack learned the news late in Luan’s illness, and was asked to keep it secret. Luan did not want to burden her loved ones.

It can be assumed, though has not been verified, that Keemo remained close with his younger sister, Mai after they returned to Vietnam. If he stayed in touch with her after moving to Los Angeles, California, then Mai being the texter would make sense in the arc of the Keemo character.

Jack Abbott And Allie Nguyen Need To Know

Whoever the hidden person is can not remain cloaked for long. Jack went to California and read letters left for him, as planned. Allie also appears to have been directed to her father’s house so that she would meet Jack.

The look of shock on Allie’s face matched her grandfather’s. That is not evidence but implies they were to meet. Hopefully, Mai or someone benevolent arranged the life-altering encounter.
