The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Jack Abbott has been paired with a lot of women over the years. Having many different romances during this time, one may ask if he had ever experienced true love. The actor behind the character, Peter Bergman has answered this question.

The actor answered, “oh, yeah.” According to Bergman, his alter ego has had a number of true loves, including Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford).

“I think Jack dives in face-first and that has been his problem. He is completely totally smitten and doesn’t do all the work to moderate that, to build on that. He thinks he can stay the same and love somebody like that,” the actor explained.

Even though he’s had a lot of failed relationships, there are a few that will always hold a special place in his heart. One of these is Nikki. The actor said that Jack was very much in love with her at some point. He’ll always carry the fact that they can never be together. Jack may have accepted that he has lost Nikki but there’s another woman that he’s never managed to get over with. It’s no other than Phyllis. Fans may recall that Jack gave his all when he was with her. Unfortunately, being together became just too painful for both of them. They didn’t fall out of love but they had to walk away from each other.

Recent episodes show that there’s a spark between Phyllis and Jack. Now that she’s no longer with Nick, will she have another shot with Jack? That’s possible but the latest scenes hint that getting Jack and Phyllis together is easier said than done.
