The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) decided that she wanted to maintain a connection with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). It appears that the terms of the offer for her to become Chancellor Industries’ top lawyer are going to enable the team to get back together, plus one.

As viewers recall, Amanda served as counsel for Chance Com. when Lily and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) were running that company. Morgan’s character voluntarily left the company along the way and founded her firm.

Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) is Amanda’s brash sister. She seems primed to clash with Billy at CI and maybe with Lily too.

Amanda had her firm before she moved to Genoa City, Wisconsin. Now, a few years after doing that, she was ready to strike out on her own.

The addition of Imani enabled Sinclair-Benedict to exist. That title symbolized the bond between two sisters who recently came to know each other.

They do not have to close their law firm. But it seems that the type of responsibility Lily is offering to Amanda and Imani would limit whatever client base they could handle independently.

Lily offered something of note when talking with Amanda about her plans for the future of CI. She told her intended-top attorney that she does not want to work with experienced attorneys because they would not be up to speed on emerging technology.

The view that the inexperienced head of CI takes is not unique. It is a feeling that some other GC residents share. People who are part of one generation are rigid and can not use their developed skills to help shape tomorrow.

Lily has not had time to get to know her staff since Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton) just handed her this job. The same would be true of Billy if he was given the top spot at CI on a silver platter.

So, Amanda needs to consider how Lily may come to see her, and or her sister if they do not deliver as expected.

Billy Abbott Lands On His Feet

What lasting consequences did Billy face when causing Chance Com to go belly up? None, because his mother saved him from falling and then allowed Lily to give him a job based on her personal feelings for him, rather than interviewing countless qualified Chief Operating Officer candidates.

Of course, Y&R fans know that the above is a wink. Khalil, Thompson, Morgan, and Rose are likely being written into a connected arc where their characters become CI’s lead players. That is good news, as the dynamic between them signals intriguing storylines and good daytime drama is ahead.
