General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Cynthia Watros opened up about how similar she is to her character, Nina Reeves. The actress talked about her alter ego during a GH Fantasy Events gathering with the show’s loyal fans, which was done via Zoom.

General Hospital Spoilers – How Similar Is Cynthia Watros To Her GH Alter Ego?

Soap fans first noticed Watros when she appeared as Annie Dutton on Guiding Light. Her alter ego, Nina Reeves, in General Hospital, also became a fan favorite in the past years. The actress was excited to answer one of her fan’s questions as to how similar she is to her character during the recent GH Fantasy Events gathering.

“Nina’s not Cynthia so, she makes choices that I wouldn’t necessarily make,” Watros explained.

“She’s an executive at a magazine [Crimson] so she has that air that is foreign to me. She’s a strong woman. I’m a strong woman. I incorporate that into Nina,” the actress added.

Fans know that Watros’ character needs more strength now more than ever as she faces Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) wrath after she found out that Nina kept Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) character a secret back when he still had amnesia in Nixon Falls.

General Hospital Updates – Being Fun And Strong

Watros said that she and Nina are both strong women. But the actress admitted that she’s keeping Nina’s heavy and sad moments in check by being funny. The actress said she added some sense of humor to her character because that’s what she has. She revealed that Nina can manage to crack a joke without the others realizing that she was trying to be funny.

General Hospital Spoilers – Nina’s A Good Person

The actress knows that Nina has done a lot of missteps but she believes that she’s a good person. She makes mistakes but she has a good heart. She’s a lot like Watros but Nina has a lot more hurt and childhood issues.

Explaining Nina’s Pain

Watros also recalled the time when Nina’s daughter, Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) grew up to be an evil person. She’s now presumed dead after falling off a cliff. But the pain of losing a child has stayed with her and she’s still learning how to live with it. Cynthia Watros may not have felt that kind of pain in real life but whenever she plays Nina, she can feel her pain.

Spoilers hint that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will continue to win back Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) by making a grand gesture.
