Counting On Alum Jill Dillard Loses Third Baby In Miscarriage

Counting On alum Jill Dillard broke some devastating news to her fans on October 11. She and Derick already raise two sons, Sam and Israel. Hoping for a third child, she felt thrilled to hear she fell pregnant. Unfortunately, she miscarried recently. Naturally, her TLC fans reach out to her when they heard the news.

Jill always told fans who urged her to get a job that there’s a time for every season. So, possibly she meant that she and Derick still hoped for another child. They already raise Sam who turned four years old in July this year. He seems like a bright little boy and taught himself how to ride his bike. At the moment, Jill home schools him and he already started learning about gardening, flowers, and invasive insects.

Fans of Counting On know that Jill Dillard and Derick’s firstborn, Israel already started real school. He turned six in April and this year, he went from Pre-K to Grade 1. Of course, his clever dad who holds two college degrees probably felt very proud of him. Often, fans see photos of Derick reading to his two sons. Israel might be old enough to understand loss, and his parents told him that Baby River wouldn’t be joining them in this life. 

Counting On News – Jill’s Miscarriage

Jill Dillard shared the news about the loss on her Instagram, and on her YouTube vlog. Additionally, it appeared on her own Dillard Family blog. She explained that they heard she fell pregnant, but “a few days later we started miscarrying.” Sadly, they had already told the boys, Sam and Isreal. Jill noted, “They were full of questions and so excited as we talked about the pregnancy and how they would get to be involved along the way and after the baby was born. “

The Counting On alum also explained that they chose the names, River Bliss Dillard. Explaining why she mentioned that river means “tranquil.” Additionally, the Bible mentions rivers a lot. Meanwhile, Bliss was chosen to remind them that their “baby is living in perfect bliss with the Lord.”

In the comments of the vlog that Jill Dillard posted on YouTube, many TLC fans reached out to comfort the bereaved members of the Duggar family. One fan wrote, “Oh Jill and Derek, I have no words of true comfort. Only that, seek solace in your faith and in your family. I am so sorry for your loss.”
