Bridgerton Spoilers: Season 2 Resumes Production After COVID-19 Shutdown

Bridgerton spoilers and updates tease that the production for season 2 has resumed after it was stopped due to the pandemic. Creator Chris Van Dusen shared the news in an interview with Variety.

Van Dusen, who created the period drama that was aired on Netflix, said that the cast and crew have returned for filming. They had to delay the production because of COVID-19.

“Right now I’m in post [production], editing our first couple episodes, which are looking great,” he said.

Back on July 17, Netflix announced that two members of the production had COVID-19 and that’s why the show’s producers had to work with the rest of the production to isolate themselves. They stopped filming two months after they began as the Delta variant of COVID-19 started to spread rapidly across the world.

Fans can expect a lot of surprises in the upcoming season, as per Van Dusen. “It’s everything people love so much about the first season but more,” he said.

The second season will focus on Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his love life. Bailey’s character has amazing chemistry with Simone Ashley’s Kate Sharma. He described their connection as “just magnetic.”

When asked about the departure of Regé-Jean Page as Simon Basset, Van Dusen simply said, “he’s our duke and he will always be our duke”. He admitted that the actor has “charmed the world in really amazing ways” and hoped to get a chance to work with him again.

Bridgerton Updates – Page Talks About “Overwhelming” Sex Scenes

Meanwhile, Page talked about doing the show’s sex scenes, which he described as “overwhelming.” The actor admitted that he was not sufficiently prepared. He knows that people love the intensity of Bridgerton’s romantic aspects but he’s still not sure how grateful he was to watch it for himself.

“It was overwhelming. But I think people were looking to be overwhelmed. My family doesn’t want to be overwhelmed by my backside, specifically, too often, but they’ll take it on this occasion because everyone seems to be terribly happy,” he said.

Phoebe Dynevor’s Take On Page’s Exit

Phoebe Dynevor also had something to say about Page’s departure in an interview with The Wrap. She said the actor’s presence will still be felt since he’ll still be referred to a lot. The actress mentioned a baby and the second season will focus more on Daphne’s relationship with her family instead of her love life.
