Speaking to TV Insider in a new interview, Dan admitted that it will be some time before he finds out that Sami had slept with her ex, Lucas Horton (Bryan R. Datillo). If there’s anything that we’ve learned about life in Salem, it’s that secrets like these see the light of day sooner rather than later.

Dan put it this way, “It takes a little while and I can’t really go into too much of what happens but let’s just say there will be a love triangle. I wouldn’t say that EJ and Sami’s relationship is on shaky ground, but they do have a lot to process. He’s been away for such a long time and he was in a bad mental place that I would say that they have a lot to build up again. He’s trying to be a better person.”

Days of Our Lives spoilers say that EJ was gone for such a long time because of his health. Luckily, this new and improved version of the character is “good as gold,” according to Dan. “He’s back and he’s ready to take the bull by the horns.”
