Counting On spoilers and updates tease that Jill Duggar Dillard and Derick enrolled Israel at a public school for his kindergarten year in 2020. A year passed since the stupendous announcement rocked Counting On fans to the core. After all, homeschooling’s the in-thing for TLC’s Jim Bob and Michelle. For Israel, his 6th birthday fell on a school day this year, but that made it even better than usual.
Israel took to school like a duck to water, fans agreed. Actually, initially stunned by the decision, fans liked Jill and Derick for breaking the homeschool tradition of the Duggar clan. Derick, it turns out, isn’t a soft pushover, and he and Jill live their lives the way they choose to these days. So, fans seemed happy that Israel loves school. Jill mentioned in her family blog that the school district they chose seemed extra-special. It reminded Derick that he attended the same school district years before.
Jill Duggar Dillard’s eldest son seemed very excited about the school registration and that really shouldn’t come as a surprise. TLC fans know that Derick spends a lot of time reading to both his sons. Plus, they see their dad studying for his law degree. Naturally, Jill gave him the best education when she homeschooled him. So, he enjoyed the idea of more learning. Notably, though, he seemed keen on making new friends. And that’s why this year, the photos that Jill shared revealed he couldn’t wait to get to school on his birthday.
When Jill Duggar Dillard gave Counting On fans a run-down on Israel’s birthday, she shared a photo on her main Instagram page. However, she also shared some clips and pics in her Instagram Stories. She told fans that Israel enjoyed his “favorite breakfast” consisting of “Lucky Charms.” He also discussed the type of cake he hoped for and waited eagerly for his birthday announcement on the radio. Most of all, he looked forward to his birthday being called out in school.
Jill Duggar Dillard also mentioned that Israel opened presents and planned for some “Taco Bell.’ The Counting On alum mentioned how “proud” they feel about their son as he’s a great “big brother.” Naturally, on her main post, a lot of TLC fans wished Israel a “happy birthday” in the comments. Some longterm fans of the show talked about how they saw Jill preparing for Israel’s birth and it feels like “yesterday.”
Of course, Counting On fans can’t tell if Jim Bob and Michelle saw their grandson on his birthday. But hopefully, they sent their best wishes as well. After all, they have some issues with Derick and Jill, but the kids never hurt anyone.
