The Young And The Restless (Y&R) Spoilers: Did Rey Bring His ‘Mia’ Baggage Into His New Marriage?

The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates tease that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) might have brought as much of his Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) into his new marriage to Sharon Newman Rosales (Sharon Case) as he accuses her of bringing of hers with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman)! That might make it very difficult for The Young and Restless couple to work out their current marital problems!

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Mia Rosales Cheated On Rey Rosales With His Own Brother And Got Pregnant

Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless will remember that Mia cheated on Rey with his own brother, Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela), and became pregnant with Arturo’s baby! That was a double betrayal for Rey and not something that would be easy to recover from. While he has kept peace with Arturo at family functions such as when their sister Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) got married, the fact that he does not trust Sharon around Adam suggests that he may have brought his Mia baggage into the marriage and is perhaps subconsciously transferring his resentments and distrust from Mia to Sharon. On the other hand, Sharon does have a mutual codependent relationship with Adam that has been a vicious cycle for years.

Adam comes to Sharon with his problems, and she feels compelled to fix Adam and his problems, and Adam becomes drawn to her romantically as his savior figure. She feels sorry for Adam and doesn’t want to hurt him and then they become drawn together through the savior-fixer-emotionally dependent cycle and they just go around and around and around!

Rey cannot understand why Sharon cares any about Adam, and he forbids her to have anything to do with him, and yet Sharon seems to be putting Adam’s needs ahead of Rey’s! A viral photo of Adam and Sharon kissing has not helped matters any – it has only served to confirm Rey’s jealousy is warranted! He won’t believe her when she says it’s a mistake because, in part, he’s being influenced by his past with Mia!

Rey would undoubtedly be able to be a little more objective about the Sharon-Adam merry-go-round if it weren’t for his Mia and Arturo baggage!

True, Sharon’s actions and feelings towards Adam are undeniably inappropriate but not necessarily driven by attraction or even by romantic baggage from Adam from the past. Codependency is like an addiction – even though Sharon is a trained therapist, she cannot see this in herself. She is a wounded healer, and she is addicted to fixing people, Adam in particular!

Adam is addicted to being fixed and enjoys the attention and the time she takes being the fixer, although on his part there is sexual tension. Sharon didn’t exactly refuse that kiss either, and there may be the remnants of a torch there, but she is cognizant of the fact that her romantic love and her body belong to her husband, so she didn’t let that kiss turn into anything further! The best thing that both Rey and Sharon could do would be to go to marriage counseling, but Sharon is resistant to that idea because of her own training – she doesn’t think she needs it! But she is making a big mistake because if they don’t start getting an objective person between them soon, it will be too late to fix!
