Just last week Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the spotlight, but for two different reasons. That’s because the couple announced that they are expecting their second child together. Soon after they made their pregnancy announcement, Queen Elizabeth confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would not be returning to the monarchy as full-time working members of the royal family.

Of course, it didn’t take Harry and Meghan very long to respond, and especially after the Queen also stripped them of their patronages. The royal couple released a statement of their own and seemingly shot back at the Queen by suggesting “service is universal.” This didn’t sit well with a lot of critics who mostly believe that Harry and Meghan’s response was disrespectful towards the leader of the monarchy and of course, Harry’s grandmother.

If that weren’t enough, it has also been reported that Prince Philip will remain hospitalized for some time to come as he is battling an infection.

With so much going on at once, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are certainly keeping out of the spotlight and that’s because they know it would be best not to stir the pot right now. Plus, the last thing anyone in the royal family wants right now is negative press, and both William and Kate know that regardless of what they do or say – especially during these sensitive times – they will be criticized. For the Cambridge’s, it’s best if they let this current storm blow over before they get back to work with their royal engagements and public appearances with their royal smiles, royal waves, and royal attitudes.
