Hilaria Baldwin Welcomes 6th Baby Amid Controversy, Alec Baldwin Bashes Haters

Hilaria Baldwin and her husband actor Alec Baldwin can’t seem to escape the trolls. First, there was the drama over what some claimed was Hilaria’s fake Spanish accent and heritage. And now (surprise!) Hilaria revealed that she’s been pregnant…and the baby (her sixth and Alec’s seventh) was just born.

Out came the trolls in response to Baldwin’s chirpy Instagram announcement about her baby bliss. We’ve got the recap of the Spanish accent brouhaha, the questions about whether Hilaria used a surrogate, and Alec’s dramatic response to the trolls below.

Why Was Hilaria Baldwin Accused Of A Fake Spanish Accent?

The drama over Hilaria began when actress Amy Schumer appeared to mock a photo posted by Baldwin. Alec’s wife was flaunting her slender figure on Instagram and holding her 3-month-old son.

Hilaria then blasted Amy in a video about “inclusivity.”

But rather than attack Baldwin for her response, Twitter users contended that the American accent she was using was suddenly different from the Spanish accent the yoga teacher had used in previous interviews.

“You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade-long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person,” said one Twitter user.

Some critics also pointed out that Baldwin had different bios. Her speaker site description says she was “born in Mallorca, Spain and raised in Boston, Massachusetts.” Hilaria was recorded in interviews with a Spanish accent and emphasizing her difficulties in remembering some English words.

One interview quoted Baldwin as saying she had moved to the United States from Spain when she was 19-years-old to attend New York University. Twitter detectives found evidence that she attended a private high school in Massachusetts before age 19, though.

The confusion increased when some of her former schoolmates said that Hilaria had no Spanish accent during high school…and that she was called Hillary.

Baldwin sought to end the drama on Instagram.

“I was born in Boston and grew up spending time with my family between Massachusetts and Spain,” clarified Hilaria. “We celebrate both cultures in our home—Alec and I are raising our children bilingual, just as I was raised.”

But Twitter doesn’t like to have a controversy end without more drama. And the trolls took the opportunity when Hilaria announced her new baby.

Alec Baldwin Claps Back At 7th Baby Brouhaha

When Hilaria announced the birth of her new baby just a few months after giving birth to her 5th baby, the social media trolls got snarky. Alec Baldwin immediately clapped back at the nasty comments about his 7th baby (his 6th with Hilaria).

“Mi vida,” wrote Alec for the caption of a sweet photo showing his wife and children. (Translation: “My life.”)

Alec’s life now includes Hilaria, 37; Carmen, 7, Rafael, 5, Leonardo, 4, Romeo, 2, Eduardo, 5 months, and the new baby. Baldwin also is the father to Ireland, 25, with his former wife, Kim Basinger.

Alec showed no hesitation in responding to Internet troll responses to the seventh baby such as the one who wrote “Yikes.”

“I believe that people should simply say ‘Congratulations’ or just shut the f–k up. That’s it,” asserted Baldwin.

Alec also wasn’t interested in the speculation about the mother of that sixth baby.

One troll wrote, “Who’s the mother? She wasn’t pregnant. She gave birth six months ago. If it was a surrogate, just say that. If the baby was adopted, just say that. If the baby was the product of an affair and you’ve decided to raise it with your wife, just say that. If you don’t want to say anything — why don’t you both constantly stop posting. Raise your kids in private.”

Alec quickly silenced that troll as well.

“Shut the f–k up,” wrote Baldwin, “Mind your own business.” And his summary of how he felt about the trolls? “Not very smart.”
