General Hospital (GH) Spoilers and Rumors: Is Cyrus, Brando’s Father?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that there may be a reason that Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) seems to be connected to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) from way back. Will future General Hospital episodes reveal that Cyrus is Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) birth father?

General Hospital Spoilers – Gladys Corbin Showed Up At The First Attack By Cyrus Renault’s Henchmen

General Hospital viewers will recall that Gladys showed up at the first attack by Cyrus’ henchmen against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his family. True, Sonny had contacted her about helping with faking some identity papers for Dev Cerci, (Ashton Arbab) who had come to the United States from Turkey, looking for Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) or Sonny himself for help. He had been fleeing from Raj Patel’s (Noshir Dalal) men after Sonny and Dante killed Patel.

Dev had been the Turkish orphan who had led Sonny to where Dante was when he and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) had gone looking for him when he went rogue on the WSB mission that sent him to Turkey. There had been a coordinated attack, with the Corinthos Coffee warehouse being the attack where Gladys was at. She had tagged along with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), and she was very interested in seeing what was in the warehouse office, and Carly had had to keep her from snooping in the office several times before the attack began.

At the same time, Cyrus had attacks further down on the Port Charles Pier, where Michael Corinthos, (Chad Duell) Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson), and Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) along with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) were at, and also in Bensonhurst at a bar where Sonny and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) had taken Mike Corbin (Max Gail) on a trip to see if Sonny could get Mike into an Alzheimers’ treatment trial. But by the time the attack was over, Sonny had to cancel – Mike was too traumatized! Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) also showed up at the Corinthos coffee warehouse where he protected Carly and she saved his life, but he had gone there looking for his mother because he wanted to know how he got a son!

General Hospital Updates – Gladys Corbin And Cyrus Renault Seemed To Already Know Each Other

General Hospital viewers will recall also that Gladys lived in Connecticut while Cyrus was in prison in Oregon before being transferred to Pentonville Prison in Port Charles. However, that does not mean that they lived in Connecticut and Oregon all their lives. We already know that Cyrus grew up in Port Charles, at least until he was sixteen years old or so, and then moved away. The rest of his family had moved from Port Charles to somewhere in Alabama, while Gladys apparently grew up in Bensonhurst along with her first cousin Mike.

She told a story that Brando’s birth father was a deadbeat who never married her and left town, but considering Gladys is an inveterate liar that could easily be a lie too. Brando’s age has not been disclosed, but we could guesstimate him at the late twenties to early thirties. We know that the DEA takedown team headed up by Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) had to be in place after Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) left Port Charles, in 2003. Everyone knows that children and teenagers suffer from SORAS, or Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome so that would account for Brando definitely being older than eighteen!

Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) is eighteen, and Taggert was in the DEA then, so Cyrus was on the loose and running his drug empire before that time. Supposedly he was running it out of the Northwest, but at the time Brando would have been conceived, he and Gladys could have been anywhere and had a romance. Cyrus could easily be Brando’s birth father, whether he knows it or not – and Gladys most likely would not tell him, although he might suspect it! That would be one reason why Cyrus might be easier on Brando than another of his henchmen who failed in a mission, and Cyrus would have two family connections in Port Charles – Laura and Brando!
