Netflix Bridgerton spoilers and updates tease that Regé-Jean Page fans are looking forward to seeing him play the iconic superhero in the new Superman reboot that’s currently in development at Warner Bros.
After the news about a new Superman Reboot that is currently in the works became public, Bridgeton fans already have a character they’re gunning for to play the role. It was revealed that the new Superman script would be written by the talented Ta-Nehisi Coates whose works include numerous nonfictions concerning African Americans, The Beautiful Struggle, Between the World and Me, and We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy.
Another confirmed news regarding the production and release of the reboot is that J.J. Abrams would be the producer of the new Superman movie. Abrams has long been rumored to tackle Superman since his production company Bad Robot struck a deal with WarnerMedia. This wouldn’t be the first time that Abrams would have worked on a Superman film, having written Superman: Flyby in the early 2000s, which was eventually shelved in honor of Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns (2006).
It is also rumored that the studio wants to cast a black actor to play the titular character in the movie, though no names are currently attached to the project.
Michael B. Jordan had previously pitched a Superman movie to Warner Bros. with himself starring as the lead. There is a possibility that the studio may reach out to Jordan as a potential Superman, though there has been no confirmation on the news.
Bridgeton fans are all over Twitter voting for Regé-Jean Page, whose performance in Bridgeton they certainly enjoyed, to have the role. “Since it looks like they are doing Black Superman, I think it likely Regé-Jean Page will be in the mix,” a fan comments, “He’s only 30, hot and I think he’d get women to go back to theaters post-pandemic. They do have Jason Mamoa levels of thirst for him.”
Following the announcement of a new Superman reboot, fans have been anxious as to what might become of Henry Cavill and the Superman he portrayed. Many are asking questions about Henry Cavill’s future in the DCEU, a future that many fans have been crossing their fingers in hope of. Henry Cavill has also expressed his willingness to revisit the superhero in a sequel.
While there are rumors of cameos in upcoming DCEU projects, it certainly looks unlikely that Cavill will get to play another solo Superman movie.
Still, fans can’t completely count Cavill’s Clark Kent out of the picture yet, as Coates and Abrams Superman may just be an expansion of a mythos rather than a definite replacement. Since the new Superman will likely be played by a black actor, it could be represented as one of the Supermen from within DC’s comic book multiverse.
The movie is yet to have a release date, and whether Henry Cavill is getting replaced or not, fans are already sure on who they want to portray the newest ‘Man of Steel.’
Production has begun for Bridgerton season 2, and we already know that the second season will be based on the second book. That means we will probably see less of Simon Bassett, Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor). However, we will most likely see more of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey). One new cast member is Simone Ashley. She will play Anthony’s love interest, Kate Sharma.
