This year’s big blockbuster Christmas movie is ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ and the production crews traveled the world to film the adventure.

Some have been lucky enough to have already seen “Wonder Woman 1984,” while others have to wait. However, this year’s Christmas blockbuster movie is definitely worth seeing. The epic adventure was filmed in some of the most stunning locations in the world. Those beautiful scenes aren’t all CGI – they are the real deal and you can see them for yourself.

Filming Locations Of ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

This year’s movie theater experience was filmed in some of the most stunningly beautiful places in several different countries in the world. Let’s have a peek into where the action traveled to.

“Wonder Woman 1984” is set in the 1980s, at a time when the fate of the world is in danger. The only person who can save this world is Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), using her superhero powers. She leaps into action to foil those dastardly plans cooked up by TV personality and failed businessman, Max Lord (Pedro Pascal).

The story revolves around Lord’s theft of an ancient artifact that was under examination at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Diana Prince is working there as a cultural anthropologist. Meanwhile, Lord uses the artifact’s magic powers to grant any wish he desires, furthering his aim of becoming successful and super-powerful. He also allows it to grant dangerous wishes to those that are useful to him.

The action of Wonder Woman’s enjoyable caper takes place in a number of locations in the U.S., England, mainland Spain, and the Spanish Canary Islands.

Washington, DC

As the movie opens, viewers will see that Diana’s apartment looks out over the famous Watergate Hotel. With the storyline based at the Smithsonian, viewers will be treated to many of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the White House. Filming of these scenes was also carried out at the National Air and Space Museum, the Sculpture Garden, and the Hirshhorn Museum, as well as the National Mall. Pennsylvania Avenue stars later in the movie, as chaotic scenes of anarchy rule as the world spin towards disaster.

The Canary Islands Of Spain

Along the way, viewers are treated to beautiful scenes of Wonder Woman’s birthplace, the fictional island Themyscira. Here, flashbacks to the Amazon Games that took place during Diana’s childhood will be seen. This part of the movie is the most visually stunning and the sweeping Mediterranean landscapes and epic race scenes were filmed in Tenerife and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.

Alexandria, Virginia

In the movie, viewers will enjoy exciting action scenes in a mall. These scenes were captured in the Landmark Mall in Alexandria, Virginia, which has been closed for business for a number of years. The production crew transformed it to look like a mall, straight out of the 1980s.

Southern Spain

Part of the film was set in Cairo, Egypt, but many of those scenes were actually filmed in southern Spain. These included the fantastic, sprawling Alcazaba fortified complex in Málaga on the Costa del Sol. This was one of the most powerful Moorish fortresses in Spain in days gone by. The Wall of Jayran in Almeria also featured.

England

English scenes in “Wonder Woman 1984” were captured at Boston Manor Park in Brentford, Bovington Airfield in Hertfordshire, General House in Surrey, and the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.
