General Hospital (GH) spoilers must share some sad news for fans of Nicolas Bechtel who plays Spencer Cassadine on the ABC soap. He has tweeted the news that his beloved older sister has coronavirus.

He tweeted on February 2 that it was a, “sad day for me. “My [19-year-old] sister [Nicole], who is away at school, tested positive for COVID.”

“She’s healthy and strong,” he wrote, “but she’s very sick, and she’s alone.”

He noted that, “seven to 10 days in isolation can’t be easy, please put some positivity out there for her. I appreciate it.”

Bechtel turns 16 this month and his fans were quick to reply with tons of support and positivity for his sister.

One tweeted: “We are so sorry about your sister Nicky. We all hope she gets better soon and gets to this. Prayers coming to your whole family you’re in our thoughts and prayers daily, and another wrote, “Many prayers to your sis. Just finished my 14 plus days of quarentine. Please tell her to move around often, no sleeping on her back, lots of rest, fluids. Ask her doc about vitamin C, D & D3 is what I took. I was very sick finally feeling better. My 3 kids recovered quickly.”

Another fan posted, “I’m so sorry to hear. Just recovering from Covid myself. Best advice my physician gave me was keep hydrated & take Melatonin. Melatonin not only helps you sleep but it helps to keep you relaxed/calm. I will keep your sister & family in my thoughts.”

His costar Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks) said, “Thinking of you, Nicole. Feel better soon.”

Nicolas Bechtel plays Spencer Cassadine on the ABC sudser. Viewers have not seen Spencer in some time although his father Nikolas Cassadine has been back from the dead for a while now. At first Spencer was miffed that his dad lied to him and then demanded that he get rid of wife Ava Jerome (Maura West) before he would forgive him.

It looks however that Spencer could be waiting a while for that to happen. Nikolas and Ava have discovered they truly love each other and are planning to make it re-official this time for good. Unless something happens in February Sweeps to change all that!
