Actor Jonathan Bailey, who plays the viscount on the highly-rated Netflix series, recently opened up about his facial hair that everyone seems to be talking about these days. Speaking to Vogue Magazine in a new interview, the handsome actor said that yes, his sideburns were indeed real during the first season. The actor told the publications that he got pretty attached to them, even though they were all the rage during regency-era England. While many of the ladies of both the Bridgerton and Featherington clans had their fancy ball gowns and dresses, the men certainly accessorized with their facial hair.

He said, “The sideburns just felt so important for Anthony. Those mutton chops are all about proving your worth and status. It’s like the Georgian equivalent of owning a Ferrari. Someone’s compensating for something – and with Anthony, it’s his inability to deal with his feelings in a healthy way.”

Now that Netflix has confirmed that Bridgerton is definitely coming back for a second season, all eyes will be on Anthony Bridgerton as he searches for his one true love throughout London. While speaking to Afterparty co-host London Hughes in a separate interview, Anthony said that he is still hopeful that he hopes to see Anthony’s luck turnaround for the second season of the steamy series.

Bridgerton Updates – What’s Next For Anthony Bridgerton?

He wasn’t smiling that much. He’s not a very happy man, Jonathan said. “He sort of seems to be the embodiment of how society is really sort of messed up, like the patriarchal society for men and women and so, it’s good to show how bad men can be and how controlling they can be and specifically with Daphne, as a c—k blocker.”

So far Netflix has not made any comments as to when season 2 will debut, but reports have indicated that it will begin filming sooner rather than later.
