What are you doing this Valentine’s day? If you are one of the lucky ones, your children have asked you to host a Valentine’s party for them and their friends! I know it sounds loud and stressful and scary, but it doesn’t have to be. Hosting a Valentine’s Day party with the kids can be so much fun! Valentine’s Parties for the kids are almost always full of pure fun, but they can be more fun and less stressful when you follow the right tips.

If you are ready to learn how to host a great Valentine’s Party with the kids, look no further than these fun and simple tips and you might just be your child’s Valentine’s Day hero! Although…once you throw one great party, the chances are pretty high that they are going to ask you to throw another. Just make sure to be prepared to be the resident party host for your children and their friends. Trust me, there are worse things to be.

How To Host A Great Valentine’s Party With The Kids

It used to be that Valentine’s Day parties were specific to elementary school, but that is no longer the case. You can have a fun, holiday filled party for your kids and their friends right at home and with all of the fun and more than their typical school party!.

Offer Fun Valentine’s Day Party Games

I’m pretty sure that there is a rule out there that states that every kids party has to have games. It doesn’t matter what the games are, but kids need to have various activities to do, so having games on hand is helpful. You can check out Google or Pinterest to find some super fun Valentine’s Themed game ideas, or you can just go with the classics. It’s your choice!

Have Space Available for Valentine’s Day Party Crafts

I just love creating, don’t you? You know who almost always loves creating? KIDS! That’s right! Crafts are an absolutely wonderful activity for kids’ parties. The craft that you have set up can be very simple to make and require little ingredients, but you won’t regret it! It’s so much fun to see kids imagination and their creativity running wild! Here are a couple of really fun Valentines crafts that will be a hit at your Valentine’s Party with the kids:

  • Valentine’s Day Countdown Calendar
  • DIY Valentine’s Day Rose Filled Heart Card

Ask About Allergies Before Scheduling Your Valentines Party

Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems to me that allergies seem to be more and more prevalent in today’s society. I don’t know about you, but I want all kids to feel included, safe and welcome in my home. That’s why I highly recommend you ask the other parents about any allergies that their children may have. With this information, you can make adjustments to your menu or you craft stations as needed.

Also, if there is a child with an allergy and the parent isn’t planning to stay, make sure to ask them to leave an Epi pen. You can never be too safe.

Have Delicious Party Foods on Hand

Let’s keep in mind here that this is a kids party. You don’t need to plan for a fancy dinner party. If you are having the party during a meal time, then you should have a meal for the kids. Maybe it can be something as easy as pizza (while you are at it, order a heart shaped pizza for the occasion). For dessert and snacks, make sure you have some cookies and cupcakes on hand. Valentine’s Day just isn’t the same without treats, am I right?

Don’t forget the Fun Valentine’s Drinks

Now that you have the food menu covered, don’t forget the drinks! I suggest some pink fruit juice, or maybe some fruit punch to give it more of a party atmosphere. I tend to avoid soda at kids parties because…well, that is self-explanatory!

Don’t Forget the Valentines Party Favors

Make sure to pack up some goody bags full of fun party favors for kids that attend your party. This can be small pieces of candy, fun little toys, party poppers, or anything else you think would make a good gift for kids. Kids love party favors! It makes them feel extra special to leave the party with a gift or a prize of their very own.

A Valentine’s Day party for your child and their friends can be so much fun with the right amount of preparation. If you find yourself stressing over the party planning process, don’t worry. Chances are they are going to have a great time regardless of if the party is perfect or not! Honestly, even if you only get part of these tips right, the party will be a hit. These are kids! They are there to have fun and celebrate a holiday, they are not there to judge your party planning abilities.

Party on, my friends!
